We are trying our best to play… a bit differently
COVID-19 NEEDS: The hospital is maintaining a restricted visitation policy—one caregiver per patient at Children’s, no visitors at OU Medical Center—and will continue to restrict volunteers and event groups on site. That means no sibling visits. No friends to visit. Only a mom or a dad—one at a time. So many of you have reached out, eager to join us once again. We truly appreciate your commitment to our families but must hold steady with current policies to keep our patients and each of YOU safe.
While we miss your helping hands, we are trying our best to provide care, support and positive activities to our kids and families. The Zone remains closed but the Toy Cart still sees about 150-200 kids each week. In addition, activity kits and toys are going out daily—these are all gifts, as we cannot clean in between and use precious sanitizing supplies.
We’ve opened “In The Zone TV” private video channels to offer craft “how-to” videos and book readings. We host live BINGO games and activity sessions twice a day — in our first week we had more than 200 tune in to participate! We are also repackaging crayons and teething toy sets to make our supplies last a little longer. Low tech and high tech innovations alike, we are still helping kids to play.
Thank you for your amazing offers of help. We have updated wish lists at AMAZON and TARGET to help guide you to our highest needs. We are also working to start lists at local shops to help support Oklahoma City partners. Stay tuned!

One week of virtual “In The Zone TV” activity supplies (10 shows) - $650 to $1,000
Special event “in-a-bag” activities for the entire hospital - $2.500
One month of 3D printing, Laser Cutter and other Innovation Suite supplies - $1,000
